Sept 20th Race of Champions Oswego Speedway

Mike McLaughlin gets ready for his run in the heat races where he went on to win. Unfortunately Ken Schrader was unable to male the trip due to the rescheduling at Dover. For the Barton Motorsports team it was day filled with hard work and a lot of ups and downs. After a lot of adjustments we started 5 in a very fast heat and ended up with a 7th place finish. When we got back to the pits we discovered that the left rear had blistered up and was now garbage. The 7th place finish would give us a 5 place start in the first B-main. Jackson would get a great jump and pull into 4th where it was smooth sailing to the finish and a qualifying spot for the A-main. After post race inspection the 3rd place car of Rutherford came up light and gave us the 3rd place finish.

Onto the A-main we would start the race in 34th spot. Everything looked great as Larry was content to settle in for the ride and cruise around for the beginning laps. But all would change before the 2nd lap was complete as Putney would go around causing a chain reaction pile up and Jackson would get caught up in it. The crew went to work and Larry came back out on lap 92. He was able to complete 36laps before pulling off and settling for a 32 place finish.

Now its back to home turf next week for the running of the US Open at Lancaster Speedway on Sept. 27th and 28th.
